That was true in the past, until a better store of value was created. Now that it's here that truck is going to be trying to travel with several flat tires. It may still crawl forward, but it will likely

Also worth noting, a better alternative did not exist during the last inflationary environment, it does now in bitcoin.

It's all relative. If the chart of gold were to look like that but bitcoin and just about everything else priced in dollars was up many multiples of that, it's still a bad investment. Picking gold is akin

Yep exactly. All you really need to know is that when it hits 1, it's time to buy in a bull market, and we just hit 1...

Yea I mean if we are talking about what we hope happens, I mean we can all hope it goes back to $1k per coin, probably not going to happen though. :)

He might be, though he is awful bearish in the short term. Seen several calls of a drop to $20k before making much of a move higher from him.

Wait until Coinbase and Robinhood go public. You probably want to own both of those medium to long term.

And the great thing about is that we don't have to wait long for it to happen... just over a week a way at this point! Even if it doesn't immediately push the price of bitcoin higher, though it could,

I looked at it but the price has already come a long ways in a short period of time. I decided to skip the shares for now.

Sometimes the truth hurts... :)

That's a great point. If major countries don't regulate it to death, the next halving cycle will likely produce much higher prices yet again. I like your numbers as well. Based on past patterns, this should

Yep that was my only issue as well. Being all out is the big risk. Sure, taking some off the table and hoping for a big drop to get that portion back in makes sense, but being all out and hoping to get

Of course it is possible, in the same vein as anything is possible. :) My point was just that if it does play out like that it would represent a deviation from the pattern we have been following from the

I probably don't need to guess do I... Again this isn't a trade recommendation. This is an overall trend over the coming years. The chart on gold currently looks like it could pop in the near term, in

As an investment, it's a poor investment. As a hedge, it's also mostly a poor hedge. I admit there are exceptional situations that it might work, but they are few and far between. Even in an apocalyptic

Yea, based on past patterns, the price will be higher in the not too distant future. Will they keep holding up and repeating? So far they have...

Yep, my thoughts as well. It would represent something out of the norm at this point.

That is very much along my line of thinking as well. The only problem will be trying to figure out exactly when this cycle ends. The first cycle ended after about 13 months, the second cycle ended after
