Quien se conoce como "El aduanero Rousseau", Henri Rousseau, nacido en un pueblo francés el 21 de mayo de 1844, fue el más virtuoso pintor de lo que pudiera considerarse el "realismo maravilloso" europeo, tomando prestado un término que se aplica al mundo latinoamericano. Su visión ingenua, no académica, "naif", como se clasifica académicamente su tipo de pintura, nos cautiva siempre que nos acercamos a ella, donde se mezcla la creatividad pura, la imaginación casi onírica o surreal y la invención de un mundo mágico.
De su rica obra, tomé tres cuadros que tienen como figura central a la mujer, y escribí este ejercicio poético en tres momentos entrelazados.
Who is known as "The aduaner Rousseau", Henri Rousseau, born in a French village on May 21, 1844, was the most virtuous painter of what could be considered European "marvelous realism", borrowing a term applied to the Latin American world. His naïve, non-academic, "naïf" vision, as his type of painting is academically classified, captivates us whenever we approach it, where pure creativity, almost dreamlike or surreal imagination and the invention of a magical world are mixed.
From her rich oeuvre, I took three paintings whose central figure is the woman, and I wrote this poetic exercise in three intertwined moments.
