Splinterlands: Another Season To Evaluate Cost, Time & Reward?

png_20220901_064249_0000.png

It's the beginning of a new splinterlands season and I had the same 10 loots in the previous season but the difference this time is that the rewards were better than last season's. The difference was the one pack I got. Of course, the pack is still being sold for $4 in-game even though it could be purchased for $2 on places like hive-engine.

I got two rare cards, which I didn't bother checking the price because I know I wasn't going to sell. I was happy to get the venari because this meant I can now upgrade her to level 2.

Above all, I think the SPS rewards were not cool, but then, it's okay, we're riding on luck and who knows, something better might just happen the next season.

A Question Of Worth

I was on course to win my 11th loot, but the season ended when I was trying to do that. In reality, I think, I'll try the modern format this season.

Last season was even tougher and this is because of new money, new players, a new strategy, and the constant need to get better rewards I guess. I saw a tweet on Twitter where a user was celebrating pulling off some awesome rewards and he was tackled by some comment, saying he would have needed like $20,000 in investment before he could be able to pull off such rewards like that, he was quick to respond that people get lucky when their investment is decent.

Leaving the rental to continue

This is true, in reality, the value of the rewards is also not static, which means that they'll add up in value over time quite different from what they are now.

Then there's the case of more investment coming in from external sources, which means that the chances of the market going up is higher than it going down at least in the next couple of months or years.

A lot of people are going to be changing their strategies this season and this is because everyone wants to pull a different sort of rewards at least to some extent, last season was better for me because I got to learn new Strategies, place some really great game and the accumulation process continues.

Upgrading to level 2

Upgrading & Shuffling

Okay, I was able to also upgrade some cards to level 2 and this is because upgrading the level means I get more leverage, and more chance than some opponent playing level 1, the cards were the angelic mandarin, created more level 2 "Pelacor Bandit*, and finally got the venari wavesmith at level 2. I've been meaning to do so for the vavesmith and I finally did that this season.

I am also looking to shop for summoners but I just don't have the cash at hand. At the moment I'm looking to upgrade some of the summoners I have to level 2, although, in an element, it's possible to have different summoners.

At the moment I only have two summoners for each element, so I have upgraded four for each element and then it's remaining four for the other elements each, I'll need about $100 to do so at the least, considering that I have some DEC to spare.

Unlucky with this one.

More For More?

I opened one pack again, hoping to be lucky, but this time, the output was pathetic. I could have continued being that I had 24 packs to spare, but then, I do not have potions. Spending to buy potions was what I did back in the day, and this is because I need to open the packs in other to get cards to compete.

However, this time, I'll prefer to earn them since I am not in a rush to open the packs. I think I'll need to buy more packs and probably get more cards. One summoner I'll need is the Alaric Stormbringer, but I'll still need to upgrade him to level 2.

I think we can make do with another market surge because I hope to clear some cards and reinvest the money but I wouldn't want to do that on a cheap. All in all, the past season hasn't been too bad, it's been fair, and I'm hoping for better input this season
