Sometimes I don't need, or rather, I don't want, the colors as the world presents them. And in fact, sometimes while I see, observe, and understand my surroundings, I also imagine it all in one of those color palettes that perhaps only exist in my head. And there's a time and a place where this happens to me most often: rural landscapes and vistas, so common around my town, certainly, but more precisely during the rainy season, when the greens here are absurdly green, a primary color, and so "tropical" that they can often, under certain conditions, "hurt" the eye of someone whose preferences lean towards, let's say, "more elegant" tones. And I'm talking about myself, obviously, because I have many photographer friends who love those saturated and somewhat garish greens of our rainy season. But not me. I have to be honest and say that when I start looking at so much green, I tend to miss the "ochres and browns" of the dry season. And so, it's on days like these, wandering through the surrounding rural areas, that I end up "imagining" things differently, in different colors, a bit like "fabulating" everything and trying to adapt it to my preferences. And that's what I did today, sitting in front of my PC after getting home from work and taking some time for myself. I selected these photos from a recent visit to the grounds around an old sugar mill a few kilometers from the town center, and let's just say I "played" a bit at recreating, translating, and trying to show how I understand the colors I sometimes imagine. And this, my friends, is the story of how these photographs, which I'm sharing with you today on #Hive, ended up chromatically fabled...
