I remember when Obama campaigned as the peace candidate, and then extended the "Global War on Terror" into new countries, and Democrats insisted it was OK when their guy did it. Now I see the inverse where Trump campaigned on ending the Ukraine conflict and not engaging in nation-building wars, only to not end the Russo-Ukraine war, start bombing Iran, kidnap the Venezuelan dictator, and then spend over 5 months so far waging an open undeclared, unconstitutional, unjust war against Iran. The MAGA Republicans immediately fell in line to insist there was a real threat, and this non-war is totally OK because of their pretzel logic about the war powers act written explicitly to forbid this kind of thing. It is deeply discouraging.
