Yeah, I know, ‘cause I like it. Right?

Diablo III

Diablo III, PC Version

Well, yes, I’ve played all three Diablo games plust the expansions. I pre-ordered Diablo III for the PC. I actually went to the midnight release at the local GameStop. I brought it home, I installed it, and then had to wait three hours before I could even try to play because the release was midnight Pacific Time.

And then I had to give up for the day because the servers were so over-loaded with people trying to play. But I waited out all of the problems. I played through the game right away. I quickly became frustrated because the controls on the PC were annoying and could leave you trapped in the middle of a huge mob, and just as you would hit the button to take the health potion, you would see the message “You have died!”

Then I watched my step-son play on the XBox 360. Controlling the game was so much easier. So I bought the XBox 360 version. By the time I did, the price had gone down enough so it was a totally stupid purchase.

It was more fun. I played a lot further. I stopped creating new characters, and I stopped playing at the Normal level. I upped my game to Hard, Expert, and Master levels. I considered playing a hardcore game. Then I stopped playing altogether.

Then there was ROS!

I pre-ordered Diablo III, Reaper of Souls for the PS4. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive. I played constantly for the first fiew days and finished the whole game, including the new Acts. It was great!

I played for a while and then stopped. I got about two-thirds of the Trophies in the game before I stopped playing. Then I decided it would be cool to actually finish a game to 100% by getting ALL of the trophies. I am now at the point where I have two trophies left to reach that 100%.

I need to equip all of my inventory slots with level 70 Legendary items. I only have to find shoulders and an amulet. And, this seemed simple when I first saw it, I need to get a “call out” for breaking 50 items. It’s hard to keep the destruction count going. I suppose I’ll get it eventually though. Does anyone know if a multi-player game will give the trophy or do you have to be playing alone?

Of course, that’s one of the reasons I’m still playing Diablo III. Not the only reason, after all. It’s just so satisfying to kill a bunch of monsters and smash stuff sometimes. Right?
