Happy Cake Day! | A Year into Blogging in Hive.

Exactly 1 year ago from today, April 23, 2022, I made my introduction blog.

SO HAPPY HIVE-SARY TO ME!

Happy Annversary.jpg

I never really intend on writing an anniversary blog or celebrating my 1 year on Hive but I guess this will allow me to do some self-introspection as to how my year here on Hive has been.

THANKFUL TO...

There are so many people to thank but I do need to mention my constant buddy @ybanezkim26 who invited me here. My life has been forever changed since then.

To @ocd and @lovesniper for the opportunity to do curation work. It has given me a wider perspective on life and helped me connect with a lot of amazing people here.

And to HIVE - my avenue of creativity, freedom, and means of income for the past year. It has been a roller coaster ride but in the end, I knew I was meant to be here.

A YEAR OF BLOGGING

This will be my 118th blog from the time I've started here. I would like to believe I have produced quality ones that my readers have enjoyed.

I had been challenged a long the way. There are times I just run out of words or I'm confused as to what to share. And there are times I just didn't have the passion to write anything for a couple of days. In the end, it's a matter of just not forcing anything and following the flow of creative energy in me.

If you have read some of my blogs, I mostly write about travels and freediving, and I seldom insert some personal events or other things I do like photography into my blogs. And I have stuck with that throughout the year.

My favorite travel blog is The Smiling Stone Faces in Bayon Temple. And to be honest, I miss solo backpacking or traveling to other countries. I hope I get to do so next year!

My favorite freediving video is Swimming with the Whale Sharks. I would have never been able to find my passion in creating videos if it wasn't for Hive!

Looking forward to another year of making more travel blogs and freediving videos! So stay tuned.

BECAUSE OF HIVE I WAS ABLE TO...

Corny as it may sound, it has been a year of self-discovery! I had so much freedom to explore the things I like, to connect and engage with authentic people, and to know who it is that I truly am.

Working in a corporate job back then, I never really had the time nor the thought to even explore the possibility of what kind of life I truly wanted. It was purely just being a wage slave (a term a recently learned from @adamada 😂) but since starting on Hive, I got to do learned more about myself and do the things that bring me joy:

  • Started collecting shiny rocks called Crystals!

  • Learned Afro Latin Dancing namely Bachata and Kizomba

  • Learned to Freedive

  • Traveled to beautiful diving spots

  • Bought my Freediving Gears and Go Pro 9

  • Created our Freediving videos

  • Started boxing too!

  • Had much time to explore and expand my spiritual life
  • Made many new, purposeful, and amazing connections here on Hive and in person!

I was able to invest in a course to help me gain new skills and hopefully soon have another remote work. And recently, I graduated from a masterclass called I AM Creation which help me connect more with my divine self, release limiting beliefs, and have a clear vision of the life I want to create and manifest in alignment with who I am.

All these because of Hive and to all of you who supported me in this journey! So thank you.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Last year, our small local group started these meet-ups to introduce Hive to our friends. It was fun and gave us the chance to stay connected with the local group until the lockdown happened many times and so we had to transition to doing virtual onboarding and webinars. Our biggest webinar was the Hive Talks! We should organize another one this year @ybanezkim26!

Anyways, I'm not great with onboarding new faces but I always share Hive with new people I come across and provide support whenever @intoy.bugoy and @chillwithshanna need assistance on sharing Hive with their friends. Due to unforeseen events, we then transitioned from our local group to be a part of @hiveph - the Filipino Community. I won't claim I'm always active there but I try my best to do my part since @adamada gave me a role I can't refuse. 😏

We still do our webinars in our discord channel and some improvements have been made within the Hive PH community even though it's a slow process.

MINI MILESTONES

With a little push from @ybanezkim26, I decided to create our Freediving Community so that we can have a niche space where we can showcase our freediving adventures. I intend to invite more freedivers soon once I will be able to have more connections with our local freediving community.

We were also able to organize two charity events. The first one was the Moalboal Dog Rescue where the funds that reached $470 were used to help rebuild the dog sanctuary after Typhoon Odette. And the second one was the HIVE PH donation drive for the Typhoon Odette Victims where we were able to raise $700 through Hive.

CELEBRATING HIVER-SARY WITH @chillwithshanna

viber_image_2022-04-22_10-20-09-229.jpg

As I mentioned earlier, I never had plans to celebrate but @chillwithshanna insisted we celebrate our anniversary together with her birthday! I couldn't say no to having Samgyupsal since I have been craving it for some time now.

She invited me to dinner together with @thegaillery, her bf, cousin, and her handsome hunky Unit Head named Jhonny! 😏 Good thing I came! @ybanezkim26 you missed the fun! It was so refreshing to get out of the house, eat at a restaurant, and have a meaningful and fun conversation with these people.

So cheers to me, to you @chillwithshanna, and to all of you who have been part of this journey even just connecting with me through your comments! That already means a lot! I am looking forward to another year here in Hive and I don't know what's in store for me but I'm excited about the future!
