A Not-So-Typical Day

We were in the wake of a grandpa last month in the other town and there were plenty of dogs around their neighborhood that my Anyongi got so stressed he couldn't stop growling that we ended up staying in the car along the highway. It was where these photos were captured. (My apologies for the poor quality though).

The sky was initially clear but then the clouds started to get darker like rain was about to pour at any moment.

Thankfully, there was no downpour so we stepped out of the car. The husband came with a cup with a few pieces of deep-fried wrapped bananas, locally known as Toron. He said they served them at the wake and thought we'd like some. Of course, we do!

While they are not visually enticing, they smelt good and tasted nice. Just how I liked them - crispy and not too sweet.

And no, as much as I wanted to eat all three, I gave one to Mr. A who happened to come where we were.

After enjoying the sweet snack, we went for a wee adventure in the private street a few blocks away where we noticed an unfinished doodle along its wall with some writings beside it (No to Drugs No Smoking, and other things which I didn't photograph as I took the shot up close).

The doodle is quite interesting though. It appeared to have been drawn for some time but whoever made it decided to keep it unfinished. What would you make of it?

The hubby returned to the uncle's house and us to the car and later crossed the road to see what was on the other side. They cleared this space below and burnt the stuff somewhere in the middle. The fire must have been so strong that it caught and burnt some bananas and other young fruit trees.

This was the view of the street. It was 4:30 in the afternoon and was less busy for not many vehicles were passing by. Life seemed so quiet and slow-paced in that area but not so!

We stayed there until past 5 pm and my boy was so tired he dozed off while we were waiting for the Farmboy.

It was already getting dark when we drove away. I took this shot quickly while the car was speeding. The landscape was so beautiful but the photo doesn't give justice to it.

And we stopped by the Chick-a-Lick where we enjoyed a veggie salad and others for supper. I did share before that the dish was quite good we emptied our plates, lol!

And that was how that not-so-typical day went. Thank you for coming along😊

Have a fantastic Thursday, frens!
