Estate “De Zuilen”
History
The estate,
located at Zandlaan 18, Hillegom border Bennebroek, is originally a beautiful nature area. Here you can find everything to experience peace and quiet in your life. We are happy to take you for a walk on this beautiful terrain full of varied natural beauty.
In addition, around 30 years ago, three large ponds were dug with the help of agriculture & fisheries.
For this, 45,000 m3 of soil had to be processed and removed. Because the polder is going down 1.60m in the direction of the old Haarlemmermeer, digging 3 ponds was an absolute necessity. For a pond, one side of it would fall dry and on the other side overflow again.
With 3 ponds it succeeded in achieving a calm balanced balance. There is also a lot to see at their photo gallery, old entrance gates, courtyards, and much more in our rare nature reserve.
When you walk past the ponds, you breathe it in and look around you feel a complete person in harmony with everything that lives and grows.
There is plenty to experience in this paradisiacal nature. Water, swaying reeds, trees, bushes and of course fish.
