I really hope ETH 2 will actually resolve some of the issues with transaction fees. They may seem like not a big deal to many, or just a simple "pain in the ass"; but what it is in fact doing is preventing every day people from many enticing options within the broader realm of blockchain and cryptocurrency.

We all talk of mass adoption. The gas fees associated with ETH are one of the biggest roadblocks to mass adoption. The average person isn't going to be able to pay $5-55 USD just to use a token, or it's subsequent tokens, as intended. Additionally, there are so many tokens falling under ETH that are enticing to the general public and might be their first introduction to crypto; until they see the gas fees. They have turned people away from cryptocurrency time and time again; with or without understanding that this is not across the board.

I really hope ETH2 stays true to it's word on addressing this issue. I'm a working class person who has been fascinated by crypto and blockchain for years. I still turn away anytime I see ETH or ERC-20. And the only reason I understand that's not universal is because of years, years of exposure. I can't even imagine what it seems like to newcomers
