HivePulse v1.9.0 — The Action Update: Firefox, FYP, and more

Big news on two fronts. 🦊 HivePulse is now available on Firefox — live on Mozilla Add-ons — so the entire Firefox crowd can finally join the pulse. And v1.9.0 is here: our biggest functional leap yet, turning the extension into something you don't just read from — you act from. Your wallet is now a full, keys-safe action center, there's a brand-new For You feed that learns what you like, and the in-extension Ecency Chat is back up and running.

TL;DR: HivePulse is now on Firefox 🦊; and v1.9.0 makes the wallet do things — claim rewards, send, power up/down, delegate HP, manage savings, and send / stake / unstake Hive-Engine tokens — adds a personalized ✨ For You feed and a balance history chart, lets you see and cancel anything that's powering down, restores Ecency Chat, and fixes wallet valuations (SWAP.HIVE and staked tokens).

HivePulse started life as a Chrome extension — and from day one, Firefox users have been asking for it. It's here. HivePulse is published and available on Mozilla Add-ons (AMO), with full feature parity: the same wallet, chat, feeds, notifications, and post analyzer you get on Chrome. Install it in one click and it works the way you'd expect, including in Firefox's sidebar.

⚡ The Wallet Grows Up: From Read-Only to a Full Action Center

This is the heart of the release. Until now the wallet showed you your Hive — now it lets you manage all of it, right from the popup, with every transaction signed locally through Hive Keychain. Nothing leaves the page, no keys are ever stored.

What you can now do without leaving HivePulse:

💸 Send & receive HIVE and HBD, with live recipient validation, a memo field, and a built-in transfer history tab.
🎁 Claim rewards in one tap — pending HIVE, HBD, and HP — plus a one-click HBD savings interest claim when it's due.
🔼 Power Up / 🔽 Power Down your Hive Power, with a clear 13-week breakdown and a Stop power-down button if you change your mind.
🤝 Delegate HP to any account (and remove a delegation just as easily) — with recipient validation and automatic HP→VESTS conversion.
🐷 Savings — move HIVE or HBD into savings and request withdrawals, right alongside the live APR view.

And because actions should be where you expect them, every asset row now has quick-action pills — tap Send, Power Up, Power Down, Delegate, Stake, or Unstake on a token and it jumps straight to the right form with everything pre-filled.

🎮 Full Hive-Engine Token Control

Your Hive-Engine tokens were already visible in the portfolio — now they're actionable. Pick any token you hold and:

Send it to another account (with a memo),
Stake it, or
Unstake it.

HivePulse is smart about it, too: stake/unstake only appear for tokens that actually support staking (so you'll never see them on SWAP.HIVE, DEC, or SWAP.HBD), quantities are formatted to each token's real precision, and your balances refresh automatically after every action.

⏳ Unstaking in Progress: See It and Cancel It

Ever start a power-down or a token unstake and forget about it? There's now a dedicated "Unstaking in Progress" panel that surfaces:

your active Hive Power down — how much is left, the weekly rate, weeks remaining, and the next payout date, and
any in-flight Hive-Engine token unstakes — amount remaining, payouts left, and next release.

Each one comes with a one-tap cancel (Stop the power-down, or cancel an HE unstake to return the tokens to your stake). No more digging through a block explorer to find out what's still cooking.

✨ Introducing the "For You" Feed

The old Trending tab is now Feed, and it opens on a brand-new ✨ For You view: a personalized stream of Hive posts chosen for you — not just whatever is globally trending.

What it does

Every other feed on Hive shows everyone the same thing. For You is different for each person. It surfaces posts that match your interests and the communities you actually care about, so what you see reflects how you really use Hive — a genuine, personalized discovery feed for the chain.

How it works

For You is powered by HAF FYP ("For You Page"), a ranking service built on the Hive Application Framework — the same on-chain indexing layer that powers tools like Hivemind and block explorers. In plain terms:

It learns your taste from the chain. From your public on-chain history — the posts you write, vote on, and comment on, and the communities you subscribe to and engage with — it builds a lightweight interest profile: a vector of the topics you gravitate toward plus the communities you're most active in. Nothing private is involved; it only reads what's already public on Hive.
It scores every candidate post against that profile using a transparent, weighted blend of signals:
- 🎯 Relevance — how closely the post matches your interest profile (the heaviest weight).
- 🕒 Recency — fresher posts rank higher, so the feed stays current.
- 💬 Engagement — how much the wider community is interacting with it.
- 🛡️ Credibility — a trust signal derived from the author, to keep quality up.
- 🏘️ Community boost — a lift for posts from communities you've subscribed to (full boost) or simply engage with (a smaller, "tiered" boost).
It tells you why. Each post carries a small chip explaining what surfaced it — a community you follow, or how strongly it matched your interests — so the ranking is never a black box.

Logged in, you get a feed ranked for your account. Logged out — or before the ranker has finished building your profile — you get a great global version of the same feed, so it's useful from the very first open. And because the scoring algorithm is versioned, it can be tuned and improved over time without you changing a thing.

⚙️ Heads-up — this is early-stage tech. The HAF FYP service currently runs on the develop branch, served from a test/development HAF node — it is not yet deployed on production HAF API nodes. That means it's evolving quickly and may occasionally be unavailable while the node is updated or reindexed. When that happens, HivePulse automatically falls back to the global / Trending feeds, so the Feed tab always works. We're sharing it now because we're genuinely excited about what personalized, on-chain discovery can do for Hive — and we'd love your feedback as it matures toward production.

And the classics are all still here: Trending, Hot, New, and the Communities tab — browse however you like. As always, tapping a post opens it in your preferred frontend.

📈 Your Balance, Over Time

The wallet now includes a Balance History chart — a clean sparkline of your HIVE, HBD, or HP over the past months, with the current value, the change since the start, and your peak. A quick, at-a-glance sense of where your stack has been trending.

💬 Ecency Chat Is Back

Ecency recently changed how chat authenticates, which had left the in-extension chat unable to connect. We dug into it and restored full chat functionality — sign in once with Keychain and your channels, DMs, reactions, and unread badges all work again. We also smoothed out two rough edges: long messages and links now wrap neatly inside the bubble, and the account switcher no longer hides behind an open conversation.

🔧 Fixes & Polish

SWAP.HIVE now shows its real value. It was being priced at $0 (it's the Hive-Engine base currency with no market against itself); it's now correctly valued 1:1 with HIVE — which also corrects your Hive-Engine total.
Staked Hive-Engine tokens are now shown and counted. Tokens you hold purely as stake were previously invisible; the list now displays staked amounts and includes them in each token's value and your total.
Side-panel signing fixed. Keychain actions taken from the browser side panel (on sites outside Hive) now sign reliably instead of erroring.
Smarter session handling so the wallet and chat refresh themselves after you take an action.
