On my dad's side of the family we have a cousin who at this very moment is going through the most horrible thing a human being can go through, the loss of a child, this was really devastating news for everyone, she was a 12 year old girl, it made me remember the pain of losing my first baby. I think there is no cure for that kind of pain, you learn to cope with it but it is still there in your heart, hidden to emerge at times like this.

Hola comunidad. Espero estén teniendo un bonito inicio de semana. En lo personal en los últimos dos días he tenido sentimientos encontrados... Por parte de la familia de mi papá tenemos un primo que en este preciso instante está pasando por lo más horrible que puede pasar un ser humano como es la pérdida de un hijo, esto realmente para todos fue una noticia bastante devastadora era una niña de 12 años, me hizo recordar el dolor de haber perdido a mi primera bebé. Creo que no existe ninguna cura para esa clase de dolor, se aprende a sobrellevarlo pero igual sigue estando eso ahí en tu corazón, escondo para brotar en momentos así.

Today I made a wire wrap piece inspired by my angel Hayley who is about to turn 5 years old, that's where my username comes from. I hope you like it and you can tell me what you think.

Hoy hice una pieza en alambrismo inspirada en mi ángel Hayley quien estaría por cumplir 5 años, de ella proviene mi nombre de usuario. Ojalá les guste y puedan comentarme qué tal les parece.

Materials:

Hot glue.
Any glass base.
Thick and thin recycled copper.
Small beads.
Tweezers.
Pencil.

Materiales:

Silicón caliente.
Cualquier base de vidrio.
Cobre reciclado grueso y delgado.
Cuentas pequeñas.
Pinza.
Lápiz.

Step 1:

On the glass base we will make a small heart with the hot silicone. When it cools we can take it off without any problem.

Paso 1:

En la base de vidrio haremos un corazón pequeño con el silicón caliente. Al enfriar podremos despegarlo sin ningún problema.

Step 2:

Cut 2 pieces to make the wings. With the help of the tweezers and the pencil you can make a spiral at one end and at the other end we will just close it by making a small ring. Cut another piece for the decorative part, it will take 2 spirals, one at each end and in the center we will make a ring bending.

Paso 2:

Cortar 2 piezas para hacer las alas. Con ayuda de la pinza y el lápiz puedes hacer un espiral en una punta y en la otra solo cerraremos haciendo un pequeño aro.
Cortar otra pieza para la parte decorativa está llevará 2 espirales, uno en cada punta y en el centro haremos un aro doblándose.

Step 3:

With another wire we will make a heart, first we will make a V and then with the help of the pencil we will shape it. You can also bend the wire and make the 2 curves at the same time and open to give shape. We will join all the pieces as shown in the picture.

Paso 3:

Con otro alambre haremos un corazón, primero haremos una V y luego con ayuda del lápiz damos forma. También puedes doblar el alambre y hacer las 2 curvas al mismo tiempo y abrir para dar forma. Uniremos todas las piezas como están en la foto.

Step 4:

We wind several strands of the thin copper to the heart shape and we will place the gem to start weaving.

Paso 4:

Enrollamos varias hebras del cobre fino a la forma de corazón y colocaremos la gema para empezar a tejer.

Step 5:

With 2 long copper strands we will cover the wings. In this step I realized that I did not have enough beads so I had to lower the wings to proceed to place the beads, we also cover the entire center ring and place a bead.

Paso 5:

Con 2 hebras de cobre largas cubriremos las alas. En este paso me di cuenta que no tenía suficientes cuentas así que me tocó bajar las alas para proceder a colocar las cuentas, cubrimos también todo el aro del centro y colocamos una cuenta.

Step 6:

With more strands of copper wire, we will place beads in the center of the wings and cover the rest of the wire with the excess.

Paso 6:

Con más hebras lasgas de cobre, colocaremos cuentas al centro de las alas y cubriremos el resto del alambre con el sobrante.

Step 7:

We will make the halo and seal with the same silicone. With this the piece is ready.

Paso 7:

Haremos la aureola y sellaremos con el mismos silicón. Con esto ya quedó la pieza.

Thinking about my little girl usually makes me nostalgic, and this was a way to distract that feeling, crafts have helped me a lot with this kind of situations, although sometimes they don't come out as I expect, I see beyond the result.

Pensar en mi pequeña suele ponerme nostálgica, y esta fue una manera de distraer ese sentimiento, las manualidades me han ayudado mucho con este tipo de situaciones, aunque a veces no me salen como espero, veo más allá del resultado.
