A Kerry Garden
Somewhere out beyond the Guinness and the greenest fields of cows, up a semi-mountain track, level with the highest farming homesteads, just where the land turns to moors, lies a garden...

"Redshanks Waiting" Artwork from Urban Decay
Redshanks, all 46 of them, facing into the breeze and waiting for the tide to turn so their mudflat feeding areas are exposed. Some of them look a bit hungry and impatient to me. Waders are a common subject

"Baboon Day, Leopard Night" Artwork
Leopards are dangerous at any time with their faultless stealth, superb weaponry and unlimited patience, and baboons will always be extremely wary of them. However, the baboons themselves can be formidable

"Lapwings Harried" Urban Decay Artwork
Red-wattled lapwings live their lives in the open. Every year they nest on the ground in the field next to our garden so I have a very good chance to see what's going on.

Two African Wildlife Artworks from Urban Decay
African Safari Homage to a continent I have never set foot upon. And I suspect I never will. These two artworks were created from photographs of urban decay with the help of Photoshop.

Lush Green Grass Long-Gone: POBphotocontest
Lush greenery is a distant memory. These are some photographs of fresh-looking grass from our garden from a couple of months ago when there was still enough moisture around for a lovely covering of dew

Fallen Flowers
Perhaps it's my age but I find myself drawn to the flowers and petals strewn on the ground. The flashy show of dazzling blooms still attached to the branches are almost too much. They almost look artificial,

Pool Pigeons
In the early morning the pool was surprisingly busy but nobody was swimming. Some were paddling, others were taking a drink and most were dipping their breast feathers in the water. Pigeons by a pool.

Clothes on a Thai Street Market
Selection of old street photographs I took on Chiang Mai Walking Street over 10 years ago loosely based around clothes. Although, it's not quite street fashion.

A Plague of Jewels
These are jewel bugs (Scutellera perplexa) and we currently have a hundred or more on our fruiting Indian gooseberry tree. The tree is called mayom in Thai and there is a tradition for homes in Thailand

Treeshrew Prayers Answered
What does a treeshrew pray for? More bananas perhaps. We share our garden with whatever wildlife finds it. It's not quite true to say that they were here first as when we arrived and built a house the

Signs of Age
To my eye the weathering of our urban world adds a lot of character, and where I live in Thailand road signs are one of the most obvious places to find it. Here is a collection of weathered patterns on
