Bicycle features in the city of Santandere, Spain!

Hello, cyclists of hive!

I'm travelling through Spain and portugal for the last three months now, and yesterday I arrived in Santander in the North of Spain. I spent my day discovering the city by bike, and I discovered some nice bike fractures there!

It was a very hard ride! Better it was a hard walk most of the day 😅 The hill's are just to steep for a Dutchy like me!

But the government helped me out a lot. I discovered some nice bike features in this city.

For example, they have these escalators where the hill's are to steep. How cool is that. I think they are meant for people walking. Because there was a sign that strollers were not aloud on it. Yeah, for my bike not beeeing a stroler 😅 I used them good!

The view frome up there was pretty nice.

They also had the stairs and elevator variant.

It was very good to see that the local government really gives about their people!

But then. When I came all the way down on the coastline, I saw this thing!

A bicycle repair station.

There were all kinds of tools and a tire pump on it! You could hang your bike up and do some repais.

I really loved that. Luckily, I had some chainolie in my backs, so I did some maintenance there.

Look at those tools! I will bet that if you place a thing like this in the Netherlands, they will directly steal everything.

After a hard day, I looked at google maps where I needed to go, and there was a tunnel on the map. I wish I had seen that earlier. I could just take that one. Not steep at all, just directly through the mountain! 😅
