I just unclamped the new gripcap and forend on a custom made rifle stock and here are some pictures of how it is progressing. After matching the angles and cutting a rough shape of new components I drilled a relief for 3 pins to hold the forend and 2 pins to hold the grip cap. I then applied a two part resin epoxy reinforced with fiberglass floc and clamped for 24hrs. Next I will shape the attached pieces to the desired contour and cut the relief for the barrel in the forend. This is a slow and somewhat tedious process but if done right this stock will be beautiful.
