Subject: KS-019-1
Codename: “Yggdrasil”
Description: Preliminary reports from unmanned probes sent to the Kappa-Sigma Prime system showed what appeared to be dense vegetation covering the entirety of New Haven. A manned research team was sent to investigate (see: Mission Log E-A-1). It was discovered that the planetary overgrowth was the result of a single interconnected species of flora, codenamed Yggdrasil -- a report sent from the team confirmed that each “tree” was genetically identical to every other (see: Research Report 07-01-53). However, after additional research and exploration, the team was unable to confirm the existence of any other lifeforms on New Haven. How Yggdrasil can survive the intense radiation from its star or how it came to populate the entire planetoid remains speculation, as communication with the team was abruptly lost following an unusually intense solar flare on the system’s star (see: Mission Log E-B-1). Attempts at recovering the first manned team and their research logs proved unsuccessful (see: Mission Log E-B-2). All further research orders have been rescinded and New Haven is to be considered hostile territory.
