Same, especially because the baby will naturally attract everyone's attention while the mother can quietly struggle in the background.

Definitely. It's not really about choosing one and abandoning the other. It's about recognizing that the mother's wellbeing can easily get overlooked.

But in a situation where someone knows how to do something better than the new person, can't we compare?

Yes, maturity. Not everyone has that and it can lead to jealousy over time

Positive comparison. I think that is a fair one. Better than the negative one that can look bad

And that's why the people around them should pay attention to the signs instead of waiting for them to complain.

Exactly. Becoming a mother doesn't suddenly remove exhaustion, pain, fear, or the need to be cared for.

Which is why support should continue beyond the celebration and naming ceremony.

And checking on her shouldn't stop after the first few days when the excitement around the baby reduces.

Yes. When someone has just given birth, making her request every little thing can become another burden.

Exactly. Sometimes the second question is the one she really needs to hear.

That's the part people sometimes miss. Caring for the mother also indirectly helps the baby because a supported mother can recover better.

Definitely. She shouldn't have to become the primary caregiver for the baby while recovering from childbirth.

Plus, there can be emotional and mental changes that people don't notice because everyone assumes she's simply happy to have the baby.

Exactly. People can get so excited about the newborn that they forget the woman who just gave birth also needs care and attention.

Yes. I get that... but do you see yourself as someone who compares voluntary or involuntary?

But don't you think no matter how we keep it, it's with show in our actions? Especially when it comes to picking favourite

I noticed that pattern and I stopped tolerating their request with a subtle no. It's a clear signal enough and it has helped
