The "wings" opening "like a breath" could symbolize freedom or rebirth. "It's moving to light" suggests a positive movement, perhaps a passage from darkness to clarity, or from difficulty to hope. "Enough to kill in other days / not now" suggests a change in how certain elements or situations are perceived. What was once dangerous or deadly is no longer relevant in the current context. The last stanza, talking about butterflies flying with "smeared wings," might symbolize the ability to keep moving forward despite imperfections or challenges.
