The corg and I put in about 3-5 miles of wilderness walking most days, and I have to say, I really do quite adore it. Especially right now with a new dusting of perfectly white powder snow almost daily.

Things have been a touch on the blustery side as of late, which in part explains my absence, that and I couldn't get a post I wrote a few days ago to upload and had to bolt to town for three days of fun

I have discovered it! The difference between the biological sexes! The Cranberry Conundrum! Yes, I may sound a bit beyond high strung and more than slightly insane, but honestly, this discovery is ground

Moments ago, I finished class #3 out of 4. Yesterday, I thought I was already done with one class as I finished up class #2, when suddenly, as I checked my assignments for that class, I saw two MORE

You know, taking four days off really is quite restorative. Okay, I only took four days off from SCHOOL, I still did a ton of stuff really. The first two days of my vacation I spent catching up on things

Usually this time of year encompasses a whole host of planning in my realm. Thanksgiving is busy enough, but our son's birthday is usually one to three days on the other side of Thanksgiving depending

Every city has something special about it. Sure, if you just listen to the news, you'd probably be too terrified to step foot in most cities, at least our big American ones, but that's the cool thing about

During our recent foray to Chicago for our son's Navy bootcamp graduation we had several adventures. Most of them were fun, some were educational, but one of them was downright surreal. Our son's girlfriend

I just can't keep up. There, I said it. Between school, the ranch, whirlwind trips to town to deal with all the things, I am kaput. I am not sad though. My life is swell. It's just not slowing down. At

Oh my dear friends, I really do long to be on here writing more, truly. It's just been more than a bit of a gallop trying to get caught up after being gone for basically the month of October. If I didn't

Yes, that title doesn't make sense, but you know what, after the past two weeks I've had, I find that I care not. Double yes, I have returned to the ranch in the wilderness. In fact, I returned on Wednesday

Well, it is that time again, time for Kat to leave the farm/ranch. And per usual, the world is a bit on the wild side as I get ready to leave. Even more exciting, is I am heading right into a tinder box

Right next to the enclosed garden area was a patch of thistles that I kept mowed down all summer. Apparently the last ranch caretaker had a massive high hoop house there, so I figured by that and the fact

Now that we are officially into fall, I find that my mind is more than occupied. Yesterday, I spent most of the day in an all day intensive that had me learning about the ins and out of clinical social

After being gone from the ranch housesitting my own house for a couple weeks, I am finally home. Well, I have been home since Monday night, but between school, ranch chores, and life tasks, I have been

Yesterday, was magnificent! My baby brother got hitched! I mean, I am always a bit of an elated toddler when it comes to being excited about human celebratory gatherings, but this one was super beyond

Yesterday, after a many month hiatus, I crafted a batch of cinnamon rolls. Now, I suppose that could be viewed as no big deal, and some of you are like, where the heck are you going with this Kat? Honestly,

Most of the time I am surrounded by so much love and community that it's easy for me to forget the rampant discord reverberating throughout the collective zeitgeist. This week was a dousing of the reality

Once again, I've been absent for a week. Out of all of my years of existence, this one has been the most brutal, at least in the form of event onslaught. I am barely keeping my head above the water. For
