I remember the times when mom took me to her work, she was: a maid, while she was ironing the clothes of the owner of the house I was under the ironing table and I could not make noise or disturb the children of the owners of the house, believe me I remember it with great sadness.
I was taught to be conformist, to understand and accept what they could give me because according to them, that's what they could do and that's what they could give me, so, while other girls rubbed their beautiful toys in my face, I had to settle for one of those paper dolls that I had to dress up. I won't deny that I loved them, but I dreamed of a real doll.
That's how my whole childhood passed. My mother had great talents, she could easily have been a great dressmaker, in fact, the only thing I had that other girls envied, were my dresses, because they were so beautiful my mother designed them exclusively for us.
But she was content to be other people's maid and to receive the old toys of the children to whom she provided cleaning services. I don't know if I should credit this kind of conformism to the way I was raised, the truth is that once I grew up I decided to prepare myself to be a head and not a tail and I want to say that this feeling has nothing to do with being proud or vain, I think it has to do with the desire to improve and self-esteem.
I love my mother who is still alive, she is 85 years old, now we can give her a better life because all her children achieved the goal of being professionals and even though we have financial limitations
I always try to go one step further, to teach my children to strive for the best, to not put their heads down while remaining humble, to strive to get what they want with integrity and to try not to be conformists when they can go further than they imagine.
All human beings have special potentialities that they do not get to discover because they do not dare, they prefer to conform to a lifestyle that is easier to handle, even knowing or frustrating all the potentialities they have. I firmly believe that if you feel defeated without having fought, you are already defeated, you are a loser.
