Humans, in my opinion, understand perfectly the need to stay in a neat and well-groomed environment, one that is free from dirt and infection-spreading organisms, but some pet owners do not understand the danger of having their pets in an unsafe/dirty space.
I went to visit a friend, and his neighbor owns a dog, the dog was smart and attractive, but the cage made for the dog was filled with defecation for God knows how long. I could tell as a pet lover that, the dog was not feeling comfortable in that space, but what could he probably have done?
When I was sure the pet owner was someone I could reason with, I walked up to him to discuss the danger of having a pet live in such an environment, and he explained that he had been away for some days, and the neighbors he asked to help with the care didn't do justice to it, he was even feeling sad and he just wanted to get changed and do the cleaning himself.

Pets require a comfortable, and safe space that is free of drought and dry. If your pet stays in a damp space, it could lead to unnecessary suffering. In creating a safe space for your pet; you have to think about its safety, free from hazards, and dirt.
A toilet area should be kept close, and your pet should be given access to use the restroom as often as possible. Just ensure that ventilation and a cool environment are made available for your pets.
Cleaning up urine fast will help to minimize damage, and eliminate bad smells. As much as it is good to clean pet homes, make sure to use safe products, for both you and your pets, avoid the use of products like bleach.
