Ming Kee Chicken rice in Bishan

It's been a couple of months ago when I visited the Kim San Leng hawker center in Bishan. This place will always be on my list of top hawker centers in the city. I also happen to have lived in the Bishan area for a couple of years and so Kim San Leng is a big part of my life here in the city.

One of the dishes that I will never forget is the steamed chicken.

The dish may seem simple but it's one of the most sublime dishes that one could have in their life. There's nothing that could compare to the quality of the meat. It's a perfect chicken dish that requires mastery and strong focus.

Unlike the other stalls, a chicken rice stall will only sell one type of dish and that shows the dedication of the stall owner to the dish. There may be side dishes to complement the meal however the main dish will still be the chicken rice. That's commendable.

There are plenty of chicken rice stalls in the city and surprisingly, the tastes still vary from one another. The differences may be indistinguishable but they do leave a mark on someone's memory and will always remind them about the place they like whenever they crave this dish.

One of the distinguishable items in this set is the chili sauce. This is the sauce that the chef makes from scratch. Each stall's chili sauce will vary when it comes to the level of spice and tanginess. This one has a punch but with less tanginess in it.

The chicken is tender and juicy. You can tell that it was cooked to perfection.
