Hi, all. I have a cute, two and half year old girl. Her Chinese name is pronounced like: jia yi. I know for your guys this 'jia' is difficult. but in Chinese it means "good, auspicious, beautiful".
Today, her english teacher assign us a task: an English name. In fact, she has one: Annie. As a first child, My wife and I took a long time to get a Chinese name, however we get an English name for her in a short time.
The problem is: is this a proper name? I googled and found that this 'Annie' is popular between 1880 and 1907. Wow. Please help me to get an English name for my daughter, which pronunciation is similar with 'Jia Yi'.
Thanks !
