We as a society for the most part have a mutual respect for nature and animals. We can co-exist in harmony with nature. As humans, I believe most of us have a sense of compassion and want to do well for others, including animals in need. That however is not true for all of us.
There is a very dark side of this that some turn their heads at and fail to acknowledge. There in fact is a lot of animal abuse and mistreatment that goes on all around us. We cannot turn a blind eye to this any longer.
I will keep it simple, because simple is best. If you are like myself and appreciate nature, it's beauty and all it contains, you must have a voice for the voiceless. I believe it is our duty to speak out against abuse and mistreatment. Animals are our companions, friends, family and share this earth with us. They make life better and show us unconditional love. Without them, we cannot survive. We must be responsible and treat animals with respect and compassion.
I ask of you fellow earth-mates to take a pledge to speak out against the mistreatment of animals. Whether it be a neighbor that has a dog tied up with a chain in the back yard everyday, whether it be an animal in a hot car in the middle of summer, whether it be a friend that thinks punching cats is funny and cool, it could be a local Vet that is only in the business for the money or even a petition you read on the internet about animal torture in another country that is miles away. These animals have no voice and are in grave danger. You can be their voice. You can save them and I challenge everyone to take an immediate stand against animal abuse. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! That I promise you.
Thank you for your time.
