Here is the sole delicious hanging fruit of my labour from yesterday, and I'm quite proud of it. I know jack shit about product photography and guns, so this was quite the learning experience for me, but I really started to enjoy it once I found this "floating" setup with much potential.
This isn't the only usable photo I took yesterday, but most other stuff is quite run-of-the-mill boring photos for training purposes, material for slideshows etc. This particular photo I did mostly for myself, and I think some of you here in The Pew community might appreciate it.
I know this is something I find interesting myself, so I'm showing you the "before" post process version of the image too. I obviously did have to convert it from RAW to jpeg, but other than, the text and removing the serial number, this is how it came out of the camera. Not too impressive, like RAW images rarely are, but I already knew I could really clean this image up and make it look real sharp.
Do note that the gun is well loved, so it's not perfectly clean, even though I showed a toothbrush, rag AND Photoshop to it. Those of you who are into guns and used to looking at them more than I, is there something you would have done differently, other than maybe rotate the image so that the gun is level?
