This article reports about injection lipolysis, i. e. the possibility of dissolving fat without surgery, exercise and dietary changes.
How does it work?
For many people today, the fat removal syringe is an alternative to liposuction (also known as liposuction). A substance called phosphatidylcholine is injected into the fat pads. This is also used for fat islands, but is injected into the vein. This active ingredient should, theoretically at least, dissolve fatty tissue at the treated site. This is then transported out of the body by the lymph glands.
Is this method safe?
That's what the experts are arguing about. Unfortunately, there is also no clear study of the dangers of such treatment. The studies of the alleged success of this method should also be viewed with scepticism. As with every operation, there are also groups of people here who are advised by every serious physician against such a treatment. These include minors, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, diabetics, people with vascular diseases and people who are allergic to soya. However, the list is even longer.
Many studies contradict each other. What can be said is that the body responds extremely to this procedure, unfortunately, especially at the beginning, not in the way the patient wishes. The treated areas become hard and sweltering, different coloured spots appear. In addition, nodules on the skin and severe pain are often reported. It is assumed that cysts can also be formed by this procedure. It is not yet possible to say whether only adipose tissue is being attacked or whether nerve tissue or muscle tissue is being attacked. Many patients also complain later about dents in the treated areas.
Not every doctor applies the same aftercare. Whether the patient is going to do sports, take care of himself/herself, sweat in the sauna, change his/hers diet or carry out an extensive lymphatic drainage varies from doctor to doctor. It is doubtful whether an effect will occur at all, except for the side effects mentioned above. Many patients suffer from these, but cannot detect any changes in their fat pads. The only thing that will definitely decrease is the balance. With prices between 200 euros and 600 euros per session (about six sessions are needed!), a rather expensive attempt. Which, by the way, has already given some people the idea of procuring these active ingredients themselves in the pharmacy or on the Internet.
Afterwards, these savers injected themselves with the drug, which is very dangerous. What came out of it is not known. However, anyone who has ever seen how one can disfigure oneself with something non-hazardous like hyaluronic acid alone will be able to calculate for oneself that the result was not a good one.
