Sponsorships are a huge part of the equation. I'm shocked by how much some people are making on X now. Some make their payouts public but that pool of creators who are thriving seems very small. The worst, for me, is Medium. They force you to subscribe to reach readers or read the high-quality articles but their payouts aren't much better than Quora. Like everything else these days it's a huge money grab for the corporations.
