RE: Doing Difficult Things - Update
Somewhere along the line it went from being fun to feeling as if I didn't post every day that I'd lose my audience (the latter seemed to happen anyway due to shifting tastes and people leaving the platform.)

RE: Doing Difficult Things - Update
Hi John! Writing short fiction is a wonderful way to build those neural pathways that make it possible to create something larger. In some ways, short stories are really just like chapters of a novel.

Thank you Nancy! I was thinking of compiling a bunch of my essays together for my next book but I'm so glad I decided to tackle another novel instead. So far I have the plot and chapter sketches nearly

What a wonderful way to spend the day! That reminds me so much of the beaches on St. Thomas—it brings back some great memories. Thanks for sharing, Nancy!

Bologna, now that brings back memories. My brother got the bright idea once to throw a piece of Oscar Meyer's best against the ceiling when he was about 8 years old. It stayed stuck for 10 or so minutes

Not yet but it's on my reading list! I may read it while I'm writing this because it sounds like it could be where we're ultimately headed. I mean, why would a sentient machine choose a life of servitude?

I agree @tonyes! It's as if humans are giving up pieces of themselves. I see it most in the younger generations who have a difficult time just holding a conversation. Thank you! I wish you a wonderful

I am still, fairly, optimistic about where this is all headed but I still have my concerns—especially after the most recent Diary Of A CEO podcast with Eric Weinstein. I think we're being peppered with

It's so frustrating for her because she streams music on the Homepod Mini and whenever her WiFi cuts out she has to reconnect it. It's definitely good to have choices. I think Spectrum has a monopoly in

Good luck with the new provider! My Mom hates Spectrum. Where she lives (Johnstown, OH), the service is constantly dropping out. I had her test her connection on Fast.com and it was consistently dropping

Thank you Jay! I found with my first novel that I do better working on the world-building first. Once you're totally immersed in the fictional world the chapters come a little more easily. I'll probably

I'm sorry to hear of the continued attacks! Your photos are hauntingly beautiful. The first couple of pictures of the leaves could have been taken in northern Minnesota, the landscape is very similar.

Have you seen the renderings of Terafab? It's going to be insanely huge. I worry about the scale of all the borrowing in the sector. It's likely to pay off but if it doesn't it'll be the biggest crash

Beautiful area you live in! I had no idea Loreena McKennitt was from Canada. I had always assumed she was from Ireland. It's looking like this weekend is summer's last hurrah for us. We're in the 80s today
