The museums are pretty amazing. We visited the National Museum of African American History (opened in 2016) and it was so much more thoughtfully designed and engaging than some of the older Smithsonians.

Thanks, it was fun!

It's SO humid there! The humidity ran around to 80% the entire time I was visiting. DC was filthy when I was there in 1991, especially the further you got from the touristy areas. This visit the city was

It's crazy how difficult it is to get together with people these days! Yes, it was almost a miracle we were able to keep the tradition going for that long. Some years were a challenge to scratch up the

It's definitely worth a visit, for the museums, if you're a student of history. There's a bit of a cold/dark/weird vibe downtown by all of the tourist attractions but as you venture out from there there's

Thank you Nancy! It's mind blowing how many years have passed. Planning and daydreaming are very close to the same thing and both can be a whole lot of fun. Those daydreams always have the possibility

That's a good example of the big city problems! We didn't encounter anything too crazy but there were loud fights outside their building in the wee hours of the morning a couple nights in a row. Thank

Totally! It was a fun exercise in nostalgic comparison though. Thank you! We had so much fun. The friend I visited is one of those kinds of friends where you just pick up where you left off, no matter

You were there shortly after me. We had tickets for the Capital Building tour but got a late start that morning and missed it.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

It was a whole lot of fun! I made some great writing connections out there too.

It's definitely important to make room for spontaneity.

I hope things settle down soon too, John! I wasn't prepared for how empty the city would be. Granted, it's off-peak tourist season but, if I were to guess, the crowds were about 1/10th of what they were

Thanks for the update and tagging me! Lizelle will definitely be in my prayers. I wish I could get a copy of my new book to her.

That's so strange! I wonder if they serve corn grown further south?

Thanks, she really enjoys them.

It was so much sweeter this year that I remember it. I guess the farmer that's been supplying the fair for years just passed so I'm not sure if it'll be the same next year. Hopefully one of his children

Thanks! I'm really happy with how clean the design is.

Thank you for that idea, Zeke! I'll try that.

Most states in the U.S. have fairs around this time. Some counties do too. Believe it or not this is a light crowd for our fair! During crowded days you’re shoulder-to-shoulder with about 150k other people.
