in previous times I have written many times about dry fish and its consumption in Bangladesh. I have mentioned there there are several reasons behind the popularity of dry fish. First one is the the storage of fish when it is collected excess. Due to the supply chain problem it is right so that it can be stored for longer period of time. Another reason behind the dry fish popularity is the economic condition of the rural people of Bangladesh. Comparatively the price of dry fish is less than the normal fish. If you think about the kilogram that it is obviously very very high but if you just think about the consumption then it is very very low compared with the normal fish. 200 gram dry fish is enough for a normal family of 5 to 6 members for two meals. But if it is fish then it will take more than one kilogram of fish for meeting the demand of dinner and lunch. So that's why I can make condition is is the reason behind the fulfilling the demand of protein sources in poor people and middle class people. It is popular and tasty as well among several districts in Bangladesh. This drive is not popular everywhere but many districts people love this dry food not only for this above mentioned two reasons but also some loving features.
In the photographs in fast to you can see couple of rich dry fishes which we locally called coral. Normally the price of Coral is about 1000 taka that is 12 USD. But if it is dry form then the price is a bit higher that is about 16 USD. Now you can just compare with the adverb example of dinner and lunch how much beneficial in terms of money the dry fish is.
It is obviously called here the best protein sources of the poor. Middle and lower middle class people can fulfill their protein demand with such kind of dry fishes very easily. Most competitive advantage is about its less required consumption per meal compare with the fish.
In last two photographs you can see some other kinds of dry fishes which price is not as much higher as those kind of coral dry fishes. These are very common dry fishes which I have not bought that's why I am not explaining but I have captured those drive fishes photographs and this prices are very much reasonable is about 3-4 US dollar per kilogram. Among these Loitta(Local Name) is one of them. It(Loitta) is most popular for its lowest price and higher protein percentage.
Sometimes it is said that for getting high and rich protein we need to spend more but this kind of things is not true for many cases and this is one of the best example of it.
