Life through the university takes determination to sail through. I will be sharing how I successfully graduated from school after sneaking through educational strike.
Am quite sure if you are a Nigerian, you will understand what I mean by this statement (ASUU Strike).
My Story
I am a graduate of computer engineering department, university of uyo. Things became clearer in my eyes when I saw fellow student whom we started school together graduate and am yet to.
They were able to graduate on time. When I became very serious with my academics was when the governing body as regards education started their strike. The strike was after the period of covid pandemic. I stayed at home for 8 good months without school and my mates have already graduated.
How I tightened my belt
I just had three courses to clear off and the first was the type of course I do not need to pay attention too , so I just paid someone who will assist me in writing it. Not knowing that the person never did, It resulted into having another extra year.
When the strike was called off, I hurriedly took my studies serious which was the remaining two courses for me. How I will get money to pay for school fees in the extra year was a major problem.
I had to ensure that after the strike, I read through each lines for my remaining courses and I passed.
My mum helped me organized the school fees though things were really difficult then but as she got it, I took the last course I had serious.
I even met the lecturer personally discussing with him that I’ve done my best he shouldn’t fail me because he was this harsh type of man.

At the end, I passed the course and successfully went for service.
Which I am grateful to the most high for the sneaking opportunity. Today the body governing education is still on strike, delaying students plans about the future, but the government still keeps looting funds not paying attention to them but I am happy because I was able to overcome them.
If I had not taken my study serious, I will be spending 10 years in school for a five year course. But I ended up spending 8 years for a five year course.
