Hello, friends of @holos-lotus. Today I'm sharing a very special topic with you: pets.
I've always heard a maxim that I share, and that is, you know if someone is a good person by the way they treat animals.
Since I was little, I've loved animals and have always had pets at every moment of my life.
Today is a special day. Today, my husband @abelarte showed up with these two beautiful surprises.
This post serves two purposes. The first is to share my happiness with you. When I was a child, I had a barcina cat identical to this one.
They are two females.
The black and white one belongs to Abel, and he named her Hana Amaterasu (the name comes from Japanese culture, which he loves). I'm not a fan of these names; I'm more traditional in that sense.
I haven't named mine yet. I'm waiting for her to tell me.
We understand each other 😁.
The second is to address a topic of interest to me.
Psychologists have discovered years ago that animals can act as objects of therapy and healing for mental illnesses or disorders.
And by this, I'm not just referring to cases like those on the autism spectrum, but also to cases of stress and emotional problems.
At least that's what the specialists say.
I can't guarantee that, but my beloved experience has shown them to be absolutely right. Pets are a renewable and eternal source of love, affection, and joy. I imagined something like that when she told me she had a surprise for me, but seeing them made me the happiest woman in the world.
It's true that pets are a responsibility. A huge responsibility. But that's how children are, and we love them, care for them, and enjoy every moment of them.
There's no sadness, pain, or depression that a cat's meow or a dog's caress can't cure. The simple fact that they rest their head against our chest, against our hands, or that they greet us when we get home can give us a shot of joy straight to the heart.
Please, I invite you, I urge you to adopt a pet. To save an animal, any animal.
In my opinion, any animal can be a pet, can give us the affection we need. Or, it can even be the recipient of all the love and affection we need to give.
Often, the mere act of giving affection, of loving, of giving of ourselves, is enough to make us happy.
Pets can also act as a school, not only making us more responsible but also teaching us how to love unconditionally.
Pets bring happiness, not only to the owner, but to the entire family. Just look at my children's faces when they see the new inhabitants of the house.
I'd been having one of those Saturdays where I'd been working nonstop since dawn, and I was tired and stressed out about everything I had to do for my PhD and the upcoming concert. However, since these two beauties were placed in my hands, all the bad things went away, and joy and happiness reigned in the house.
Without a doubt, pets are a cure for the soul.
