The magic happens at the bottom

well well well, finally I am able to make my entry to this amazing community again, after a few months of the dry season and things went so hot, now we are into the rainy season. with thing got wet, damp and dark, now I hope that I will get a chance to get more photos and mushrooms to share with you all with the fungi Friday community.

For no,w I think I have this common mushroom somehow google refused to share with me the exact species when I am trying to find out more about it online. too sad that I could not share with you all the scientific name of this mushroom.

These great mushrooms which are so many in the colony, and its shape is like a fan or an open shell. With the white to grey in color, and they all live in a log that has been cut a few month prior to when I found these little guy. maybe they are starting to do their incredible work in decomposing the organic matter back to the soil.

But what I want to show you is what happen below the fruitign body of the mushroom, the intricate veins of its mycheleum roaming arounf the surface of the log, eating the nutrient on it and then distribute it to its fruit body. I think there is where the magic actually taking place.

And the mycheleum actually takes a lot more space that the fruiting body of the mushroom, as you can see in the photo below with one fruiting body and the mycheleum that spreading around like a black vein crawling trying to absorb the energy.
