Today...

was another crazy beautiful day, driving on our way to see @snook, @enginewitty, @jayna, (and more more more hehehe) for the Colorado Alliance meetup.

We arrived - we are finally in Colorado.... but... a day early! So - we needed to find an AirBNB for the night! Miss @mariannewest found the only one left in the area - right outside the town we are meeting in! COOL!!!

or... was it?

As we were approaching the town, it started to look a little beat up! LOLOL Then as we pulled onto the main road - it looked VERY beat up. Some abandoned buildings interspersed with totally remodeled ones... an odd mix - but intriguing and.... a little spooky! LOL

However... the architecture was exquisite. (that post will follow tomorrow!) We were really impressed with what remained of the town - which is a town that hosts the oldest running gold mine! But..... we couldn't find our AirBNB. We finally found it - and it looked very very sketch LOL I busted up laughing and told @mariannewest that I was WORRIED!

She - is an adventurer however! and wasn't worried in the least! But - we couldnt access the wifi, and needed to find someplace that had it - so we could get the instructions on how to get the key!

Finally - we found an old hotel and restaurant. (the bartender inside was just a teeny bit a lot tipsy, and I interrupted his olive, salt, and saltine cracker "sandwich" 🤐 to ask him if they had wifi we could use. After he dropped a few olives on the floor (hehehe) he informed us yep! they did - and so...we went here for dinner.

The decor in here was SUPER cool - old - kinda like the Tower of Terror (from Disney - my favorite ride!) But totally authentic. Check out these pics!

We finished our lunch - which was pretty good, despite some strange oddities - but this post is already gonna be long so.... moving right along! Time to get our instructions and head back to this building that held our AirBNB room. By the way - the outside.... looked kinda abandoned and filled with construction stuff. hmmmmm are you SURE @mariannewest!?!?! 😅

On our walk.... a bit of hope? a beautiful flower that outshined the abandoned buildings behind it.... maybe this would be ok after all!

Oh dear. this is not a good sign to see upon entering the building!

Ok.... clearly someone remodeled INSIDE this hallway! what a surprise!

And knights to protect us??? How appropriate. After all, we ARE royalty 🤩
