I figured that we are at a turning point, with science and technology exponentially growing we are either going to thrive or perish but I didn't realise that there was a scale created for the level of civilisation we manage to reach!
Originally there were only up to 3 types of civilisations on the scale made by Kardashev but other astronomers have added more such as Type IV and Type V which go past the point of current knowledge and Type V suggesting that we could eventually become some type of God's.
