I got the same as chemistry-tutor. Do 888 + 88 + 8 + 8 + 8. Adding 888 with 88 gives 976. You then need 24 to get to 1000 which is done from adding 8 3 times.

When I was around grade 4 or 5, my class took a few hours playing around with this typing learning program called All The Right Type. I don't remember much from that. I think it is better to learn typing
