Steemit is in the news again and mostly in a positive way. The writer of the article asks himself the question whether steemit and other blockchain based social media can overtake Facebook and Twitter. I think it is great to read that people are officially comparing Steemit with Facebook and Twitter. The article also mentions that Steemit has added new features that many users asked for, which is also positive because it shows us that the people in charge actually care for this project and it is not their intention to create a Ponzi scheme, as suggested by Tone in the same article. Another interesting observation from the article is that big names joined steemit. For those who missed their introduction, these are the people that recently joined:

Trace Mayer, Larken Rose, Charlie Shrem, Roger Ver, Tatiana Moroz and Rick Falkvinge, but also Jeff Berwick from TheDollarVigilante.

This is also quite important news that only makes the Steemit case only stronger. Steemit is going into the right direction but it will get competition very soon. In September Synereo will launch their social based media. But Steemit has nothing to fear as they have the advantage of being the first with many big names already actively supporting Steemit.
