Apparently, Conor plans to return to the UFC sometime around September, that would mean around 2 years of not defending the title. Understandably Dana wasn't too pleased.
If he comes back in September, that鈥檚 almost two years - that can鈥檛 happen... The belt would have to move on... You do Khabib vs. Tony, we鈥檙e working on that fight now. If and when Conor comes back, he would get the first crack at the title.

Honestly, that plan sounds beautiful. I think Conor doesn't want to fight Tony for some reason. Conor did ask for Khabib in Russia before boxing Mayweather, maybe he believes it will be a bigger money fight, who knows?
Either way Tony vs Khabib is the fight that needs to happen, it's the most intriguing fight in the division right now, and Conor doesn't need to be a Champion to be a gigantic star, stripping him does him no harm. I don't know about you but I want this to happen.
