RE: Hive's "Short Form" Options, Community Building and the Problem of “Dilution”
And persistence is certainly a very valuable attribute. Sometimes those who fare the best are those with merely a "solid" (as opposed to "brilliant") idea but who stick around and keep

Blockchainiacs and Decentralists have a certain arrongance in the way the assume that of course the fact that we're decentralized and on the blockchain will automatically make the world flock in, like

RE: Basically Just a (Creative) Slacker!
There are definitely cultural elements to the idea of "doing nothing." I know in some parts of the world, being industrious is highly valued, while others believe you are more productive if you

RE: Basically Just a (Creative) Slacker!
Thanks! I just know — for myself — that I need to take things slowly, or I just don't feel good. There's no real need to "accomplish" all the time.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing that. From where I am sitting, that suggests you have a healthy and balanced mind... but I'm sure not everyone would agree! I just think the fine art of doing nothing is highly

RE: Basically Just a (Creative) Slacker!
Sadly — at least here in the USA — doing nothing is more often regarded as a point for shaming someone, rather than to say "well, good for you; rest is good." This busy-ness is even reflecting

RE: Basically Just a (Creative) Slacker!
Definitely is here in the USA... other areas of the world seem to have managed to create a better balance between "nothing" and "something."

RE: Clouded Thoughts From a Foggy Mind
Getting younger? Why, of course! Isn't that how it's supposed to work?🤣 It's ironic that I have typically tended to work at my best when I am not under stress or facing deadlines... the exact opposite

RE: Clouded Thoughts From a Foggy Mind
My "version" of being alive definitely ebbs and flows... and there seems to be very little pattern, rhyme or reason to why now.

RE: Universal Basic Income Revisited: Maybe it's a NECESSITY, not a "Socialist Evil!"
Somebody is definitely lying. I have seen various government projections about jobs and the labor force, and they seem heavily biased by the idea that under no circumstances are economists going to confess

RE: Universal Basic Income Revisited: Maybe it's a NECESSITY, not a "Socialist Evil!"
There was a study done in Germany that followed a pilot program of people receiving a small sum of UBI for a period of three years... too long to go in detail here, but have a link: Interestingly enough,

RE: Universal Basic Income Revisited: Maybe it's a NECESSITY, not a "Socialist Evil!"
UBI is more likely to become a reality in places other than the USA, simply because our population here has such a profound mistrust of government and "organizations." We simply don't trust anyone

We are, for sure, on a collision course with something. The infrastructure to administer a kind of UBI is already in place, via electronic food stamps. Meaning that it's easy to control what people get

RE: The World is so Noisy!
We have lots of wild nature to get away to here... but it still saddens me that we have to drive 30 minutes to find it. The top photo was taken at Joshua Tree National Park in the California high desert...

Interestingly enough, the quietest we experience around here is precisely when the power lines are taken out by downed trees during stormy weather. Whenever that happens, I am remindedof just how much

RE: Short Content, Long Content... How About "Medium" Content?
Seems to be true of the world, in general. People have very little patience with anything. They want to have the answers, but are not willing to apply the effort needed to actually get the answers. Sadly,

RE: The Novelty Wore Off?
I know. My wife spends hours making 15-minute promotional videos for her and her girlfriend's self-development and meditation workshops.
