RE: Which Reality Are You Choosing?
I would agree that these fictional "realities" are simply constructs unlikely to fit in the actual world. But they do give us some basis of ideas to derive from; elements to strive for and work

RE: Objects in Bag May be Smaller Than Expected!
I'm skeptical of the "universal" part of UBI. It might be more viable if it comes with conditions. Like our friend Chris gets food stamps... he can't just buy beer and cigarettes. Sure, he can

We'll see when/if ours come down a bit. We're laboring somewhat under the strange cage/free-roaming laws of the United People's Socialist Republic of Washington State... just makes it slower to filter

I do remember, back on our legacy chain, how part of what made me excited about the community's earliest day was this idea of it being "The Internet of Human Stories." A repository of people,

RE: I was a Professional Beachcomber, Part 2: A Lot of Work!
It was a lovely way to keep from having to go to a "real" job and sit in an office, every day!

There were quite a few things to find, including natural jade washed down from Canada, pieces of pottery and china, electrical parts from ships, random driftwood in the (approximate) shapes of fish and

RE: July 4th and Life Behind the Screen
All those notifications drive me crazy! In most cases, I reject app requests to notify me of anything. I'm just not afraid that I am "missing" anything of significance.

Yes, the cats graciously allow us to live in their house... I have typically done pretty well at reinventing myself, but it has practically always been by necessity, not by choice. I'm sure I'll figure

That's very impressive! I already have two Etsy shops for my artwork, and for my "found objects" people use to make art and jewelry... but both of those are physical products and it has been

RE: Blown gasket, broken plans (Eng/Esp)
Not much in the way of public transportation where we are, but thankfully our old truck will still get us from point A to point B, as long as we don't need to go more than 10-15km. We do have reliabel

Nice view... and small world! Deroppe fra kunne du sikkert have set lige ned i haven på min farfar og farmors hus på Bjerregårdsvej hvor jeg legede i haven da jeg var lille. De er der selvfølgelig ikke

That royally sucks. I know, because we're in the ame boat. Just spent $2000+ on getting our Jeep a new radiator, water pump and several other things because it was running hot and there was a crack somewhere.

It's always scary when our furry friends are not feeling well... we have 4 cats, so I know. Here's hoping that Ruben makes a quick and full recovery!

RE: Simple
I would think that a lot of the time such people find a lot of their meaning from within, rather than by trying to follow the popular influences pushed on us by the external world.

Trying to figure out how to say this in a comment length way... there are some things that are missing, and some things we have lost along the way. Short version — compared to 7-8 years ago — it feels

Sorry to hear that @he-index, but I can appreciate that Hive-Engine's choices are not in alignment with what the INDEX project was about. I ended up here because I'd noticed that the drips/dividends had

Looks like she was pushing herself... which seems a bit sketchy without a spotter standing by. I think the guy was purely acting on the belief that he was preventing an accident/injury.

RE: In Contemplation of Dark Times and Moving Forward
Excellent! I think having a creative outlet of some kind is one of the best things we can do for our own well-being. It does clean the mind... and if we can create something useful in the process, so much
