RE: Are You Getting Everything Done? The Lost Joy of Idling…
Thoughtful comment, thanks! As a piece of background, I am a Danish national, but while I was born there I didn't always live there. Of my first 20 years, about 12 were spent in Denmark, five in the south

Sometimes it's difficult to find that balance, to be sure. I discovered — at least for me — that when idling and feeling like I "had to" get up and do something, it was not ME speaking, it was

Thanks Joan! In the end, all we really can do is our version of our best, but the difficult thing — for most people, at least — is perhaos making peace with the notion that sometimes our best simply won't

It started by going to outdoor arts and crafts fairs in the area and discovering that that there were quite a few jewelers and artists who used "found objects" in their work. Turned out the more

Sea glass, old pottery, driftwood, oyster shells, hag stones and pretty much anything interesting I would come across. It was fun while it lasted.

I guess it's what happens when you don't really relate to mainstream likes and preferences.

I think you might have missed the deadline, but have an upvote anyway! I can relate to having to sell Hive to pay bills; had to do a major powerdown about 18 months ago to pay a property tax bill. Hated

I'm probably as much of a cynic as you are, and I don't for a moment think that this is "the answer" to anything. It is, however — at least from my perspective — at least a tiny light in the

As much as anything, I am just hopeful that an initiative like this will remind people that this is (allegedly) a social network, and it's a good idea to be "be social."

Even if this particular initiative doesn't turn out to be the end-all solution, at least it's a step in the right direction. And if there are more than a few posts that get substantial engagement, it at

That makes you a bit of a rarity in the world of Hive... most people here are content creators not content consumers. Of course, it would also help newcomers if it were easier to understand the whole signup

I agree that would be the ideal, but it's not necessarily the reality. You address something important in pointing out that Facebook groups work this way. It was always my hope for Hive that communities

I'm open to the fact that different people want different things. I'm a writer/blogger first, and everything else is just a bonus of sorts.

That's pretty awesome how the journey turned out for you! It's always good to hear that crypto "worked out" for someone. Nice boat!

TBH, I prefer people's random ramblings and venting to ostensible "real" content because I was always more interested in the Internet of PEOPLE than the Internet of THINGS. Which, perhaps, points

That's pretty much how I saw it in the beginning, as well. I was tired of hosting sites just shutting down and losing hundreds of hours of work because it just vanished overnight. People do respond to
