With the comics, is that shop owners putting them up for sale on ebay directly? Or, is it them handing them out early to others who in turn try to flip for profit? It's definitely annoying for sure, collectibles in general have gotten overrun with "investors" and people trying to flip constantly. Anything limited is eaten up instantly and on ebay for 4 times the price 10 minutes later, shit's annoying.
Even TCG's have the same issue. That 2020 boom for Pokemon was both the best and worst thing to happen to Pokemon, it brought people back into the hobby and reignited a bunch of peoples love for it, while also making the market absolutely ass. One Piece came out with a card game a few months ago and the prices are fucking bonkers because people just buy it up to resale immediately. The only TCG's that don't get milked to death seem to be Yugioh, and Digimon. And, the latter is only because barely anyone likes Digimon, lol.
