This turned out to be quite a day for me — three hikes in one day! To be fair, the first hike was the real one (Wilmer Wetlands), and the other two were quite a bit shorter (Dutch Hoodoos and this one

This hike to the Dutch Hoodoos (aka Fairmont Hoodoos) was a quick in and out. I think it took about 90 minutes or so roundtrip. I showed you the hoodoos in a previous post already, for today though, some

# Two weeks back I was privileged to be hiking in Waterton Lakes park, Alberta. The roundtrip hike to Upper Lineham falls took about 4 hours in total with about 350 metres of elevation gain. The upper

I did this hike to Boundary Bay, when I was in Waterton Lakes Park two weeks ago. The reason it is called "Boundary Bay" is because the hike actually takes you to the Canada US border! So on

Here we are at the last Friday of July, turning the page into August tomorrow. We are pretty close to the halfway point of the Summer; what have you been up to so far? Any exciting trips or adventures

The terrain at the top here was gnarly to say the least! Not only are hoodoos formed through years of windy and rainy weather, but the elements do a number on the trees as well. Beautiful and gnarly. I

It was a relatively easy hike up to the Fairmont Hoodoos, also known as the “Dutch Hoodoos”. At least a lot easier than the Wilmer wetlands hike I’d say. These hoodoos are really so cool to look at. Typically

Next hike on the agenda was Fairmont Hoodoos (or Dutch Hoodoos as some call it) — let’s go! This one was located about a half hour south of Wilmer Wetlands, close to Fairmont hot springs. Once again, basically

Goodbye Wilmer Wetlands, it has been a slice. This will be my final post on the wetlands. After getting somewhat lost for a bit, I finally made my way back to the road, and then to my car. Just a minor

Well the weekend is nearly over, and if you have to work on monday, then sunday is a rest up day, a day to rejuvenate. So that is what I am doing, rejuvenating! Next set of holidays begins the second week

As I continued my hike around the wetlands the scenery continued to impress! At this point I was meandering around the perimetre near the water, not even sure where or when I was going to circle back.

It’s Friday July 24th, and the Summer is nearly half over. Tell me about the week that was, did you get up to anything exciting? Myself, it was just a typical work week which will extend into the weekend

Roaming around the wetlands, a few more pictures to share. At a glance, the first photo almost looks like a giant rice paddy! But no, this is not Asia, it is British Columbia, Canada. Tell me which is

Getting close to exhausting my Wetlands camera roll. This place may take the record for the most amount of images I have captured in a single outing! I hope you have been enjoying these photos as much

I really went to town with the camera shutter here at Wilmer wetlands. Just so many photo ops, it was so gorgeous! It is like I entered a different planet. After following the trail along the cliff edges,

Yesterday took me to a place called Chester Lake. Located in Kananaskis country Alberta. The hike itself took approximately 3 hours roundtrip, and was certainly quite a bit easier than the hike to Lillian

Orginally I planned on hiking to Chester Lake, but after a brief visit at the Kananaskis visitor centre, and based on a suggestion, I decided to hike to Lillian Lake instead. After arriving at the parking

A few more captures from the wonderful Wilmer wetlands! Orginally I was going to upload a video from todays hike, but it was giving me some grief, so I’ll likely upload it tomorrow, so in the meantime

Here we are on another Random Friday the 17th of July. We are well into Summer now! Today I’m taking a break from three straight days of hiking, but back at it tomorrow. Going to head into Kananaskis country

Continuing on with my exploration of Wilmer Wetlands, located by Invermere, British Columbia. What an incredible place this was! It absolutely felt like another world, unlike any other place I have visited.
