After a good hike, it always feels good to relax, sit down and take a load off. Look, I found a great spot! And it’s overlooking a fantastic golf course. All in all, this plan B hike was decent but on

We are already into the first Friday of June! Weather seems to be getting better every day, and Summer holidays are quickly approaching. But before Summer holidays, I have a quick pre-holiday excursion

So it took about an hour from the Valley trailhead to the end, which was just over and beyond Toby Creek. Here are a few random photos captured on the return hike. All in all a pretty decent hike or better

Hiking along Toby Creek, just past Grey Wolf golf course, a few photos to share from that splendid day of hiking last Fall. Located about thirty minutes southwest of Radium hot springs, British Columbia.

This is the beautiful Toby Creek, located in British Columbia. The creek behaves more like a river I’d say, especially earlier in the season. The “creek” flows eastward and eventually drains into the Columbia

Hiking along side the golf course for the first half of the hike, and then veering off toward Toby Creek for the second half. An easy and scenic walk it was. As you can see, the creek (which is closer

This particular trail started at the Grey Wolf golf course, following along the outskirts of the course until veering off and over Toby creek. Honestly it was better than expected, considering it was my

Are you a golfer? A wannabe? Myself, I have only golfed a handful of times, not because I dislike it, I just spend more time hiking and walking I suppose (I’d probably rather photograph the course than

Welcome to the last Friday of May, the 29th. The weather has been on the warm side lately, with above average temperatures. Big cool weekend in the works though, coupled with plenty of rain. Tell me about

In the Winter, Panorama, British Columbia is a popular ski/snowboard destination. In the Summertime, plenty of hiking opportunities to keep you occupied — or so I thought. After arriving here, I went straight

I was looking at these photos and then thinking to myself, what would be a good title for today’s post? Clean country roads, beautiful mountain views, neatly baled hay, green pastures, cattle. This is

Here is one of the rare occasions when I decided to use the smartphone instead of the Sony A7R. As mentioned yesterday, I have made a decision to pretty much stop using the iPhone for posting on Hive.

Lately I have been using the Sony A7R almost exclusively when out and about on the hiking trail. I felt that before I had or was taking an excessive amount of pics, too many in fact. So I made a conscious

It’s Friday May 22nd, and the weekend is upon us again. Luckily I have the weekend off. Weather is great and I’ll be out and about soaking in the sun and getting some good steps in. How about you? Have

Located near Cameron lake is tiny Akamina Lake. In fact, Akamina lake is only walking distance from the Cameron lake parking lot! About 1 kilometre away, nice and quick — my kinda hike. Shortly after finishing

I have never seen so many red rocks and dirt in all of my life! Very unique and original. This is what part of the trail to Rowe lakes looks like. Due to higher than normal iron deposits, this is the result.

Well it’s that time, time to return after hiking to lower Rowe lake. I present to you some random photos taken along the way home. Now after seeing them bears swimming across the lake earlier (and toward

Ok, after a light lunch by the lakeshore, thought I’d grab a few pics of the surrounding area. The lake itself (lower Rowe lake) is nestled snugly amidst the subalpine cirques of mount Rowe. Unfortunately
