Personally, after having multiple dealings with these people, my feeling is that the DWP is similar to the Home Office and the border agency in that they are not only indifferent to the harm they do; they harm they do is the point. It's meant to be a barrier to getting one's basic rights respected. I don't think you're being negative at all. I really hope that when it gets sorted you will end up with a better departmental culture in charge of this. I love the way you really start strumming on the the guitar when talking about it. Sounds very therapeutic. My daughter's disability has led to a fairly traumatic experience in mainstream schooling. She left school for the local FE college at 16 and really appreciated the slightly different approach, which leaves students a lot more on their own, but that's handy if there's good support at home. They also assessed her for extra time in exams, so there was some disability support baked in. Good luck with everything.
