My motive for writing this is because I feel my society; NBK has been lacking in team hunts lately and it shouldn't be that way. We should realistically have team hunts going on all the time. It's not really that complicated but I will elaborate because solo hunting can be appropriate at times too.
Why I prefer the team hunt?
Because there are mobs out there that have large HP and fast regen. Let's take Daikiba Bull for example, it's like level 70 and has very fast regen. I tried to solo this Daikiba Bull, but it was impossible because I could only deal about 50 DPS. That may seem like a lot of DPS; and it is, but not nearly enough to take down Daikiba Bull. I was able to widdle down his HP, but I was combating it's ability to regen so fast that my hunting of this Daikiba was very uneconomical.
What's in it for the team?
A lot, potentially. Consider this. If you just hunt solo and you're only hunting small to medium type mobs; the likelihood of ever getting an ATH is dismal. However on the flipside if you were constantly involved in team hunts that crushed Proterons, Leviathans, Eomons, and big Longtooth type mobs. The likelihood of an ATH or many HOFs is much more reasonable.
But is it even economical?
Absolutely! Well it can be. It's definitely more economical than if you were to try to take down the mobs "solo." Here's why.. try to grasp this concept because what I'm about to explain is the grand finale of this blog. Let's say your DPS is only 25; but you really want to take down big mobs like the pros. Well, you have 5 other friends who each have about 25 DPS weapons as well. Note that the DPP is of your own choosing, you control that part. So you and your 5 friends all agree to go hunt Proterons and split the loot evenly etc etc. It's not just your measly 25 DPS anymore! It's now your 25 DPS with the power of your 5 friends creating a combined DPS of about 150! That's huge! Let's take it one step further and assume you and your friends are very eco conscious. You all have weapons that have a range of over 50 and you're all wearing EST armor. Now you guys are slicing through Mature and Old Proterons before they can even hit you! This is so incredibly powerful I don't see why every soc is jumping on this opportunity.
