Interesting ideas, but if you happen to be in one of these locations and a nuclear war breaks out, the supply chain is basically going to collapse. That puts in a location that while isolated from the brunt of the disaster, you are now having to contend with supply issues. If that location is heavily dependent on outside supplies, then things could turn bad quickly.
