On November 12th of this year, a factory making food colorings for beverages in the Clifton neighborhood of Louisville exploded, killing two and injuring eleven others. The blast also damaged numerous

Who doesn't love a selfie? Know I can't be the only one. Would rather point the camera in just about any direction that I wasn't in. Sometimes that's just not possible. Paid a visit this past weekend to

The city of Louisville exists because of the Ohio River, more specifically the Falls of the Ohio, which is the only real barrier to navigation on the river. Prior to the building of a canal around it in

Can't see shit, leastways not without my contacts in. Can make out a fuzzy spot where the big letter at the top of the eye chart is supposed to be, but that's about it. Made the mistake of falling asleep

This is Pink, the one Aerosmith did the song about. Pink says hi. They live on a lampshade, don't ask me why. Have you heard about the toy that's really blowing up this holiday season, Grenadier Furby?

What is it about nice things that makes them so endangered? There's a place about fifteen miles as the crow flies from where I grew up called Red River Gorge that is both a gorgeous bit of nature and in

This time last month I was down in Williamsburg, Kentucky participating in the Mountain Workshops. As part of the workshop, they had sponsors set up who provided us with loaner equipment. Nikon was nowhere

What I really need is a time machine. Not for anything nefarious, I just want to go into the future to read the history books and laugh at everything they get wrong. Was reading recently that somebody

There's just something about the lingering smell of curing tobacco that makes an old barn seem like a perfect place for a pickin' and a grinnin'. A couple weekends ago we snuck down to Loving Farm in Nepton,

Was just starting to enjoy the day's first cup of coffee the other morning when the cats cut loose with their best rendition of Chop Suey. The slamming of the drawers under the bed moments later seemed

Yesterday was a Tuesday much like any other November Tuesday, not terribly warm, not terribly cold, with just the right amount of cloud cover to make you want to take a nap. Up until about 1500 that is,

Haven't posted much in the monochrome recently, should probably remedy that. Ain't no rhyme or reason to this collection other than they's from the (neighbor)hood in the past couple weeks. Tax dollars

Amid the rolling hills of Fleming County in northeastern Kentucky is the little community of Nepton. There, nestled between Johnson Creek and the old Maysville and Lexington Railroad tracks, is a five

We're all gonna to die! Eventually. In the meantime, life goes on, might as well enjoy it while you got it. Snuck out early recently to catch the last 0800 sunrise for a while, hiked up to the overlook

The season finale of everyone's favorite reality TV show, Election! is currently in full swing (slog?) here in the US. Opted to tune into Photoshop instead, so here's some photos from the local scenes.

Spent the better part of a week down in Williamsburg, Kentucky recently. The photojournalism workshop I was participating in kept me more than busy, was still able to snap a few shots that weren't directly

They say you never forget the shots you don't take. Yesterday, one of those once-in-a-lifetime street photography shots came my way, but I let it pass without shooting a frame. No regrets, no shot is worth

Sleep deprivation is real, y'all. Got back into Louisville on Sunday from spending a week down near the Tennessee line in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Was in Whitley County to take part in the photojournalism

Haven't shot much lately, been working on other stuff since a fried transmission control module limited my mobility. Fortunately Ford footed the bill for that, they may have built the damnedest transmission

You can call Louisville an urban jungle but you might be stretching things a bit. Maybe more than a bit. Imagine a fairly small city with 25-30 little towns and villages on the periphery, then fast forward
