Hey there, crypto enthusiasts and #podcast lovers! Welcome to the recap of Episode 30 of the Cold Beetroot Soup podcast, where your hosts, @MiniGunner and @Artakush, bring you the latest from the Hive blockchain. This episode, recorded on a sunny Sunday, May 11, 2025, was packed with laughs, updates, and a few unexpected surprises—like a mysterious door creaking open mid-show! Here’s a detailed rundown of what we covered, keeping it simple and straight from the heart.

Celebrating 30 Weeks of Podcasting

We kicked things off by celebrating a big milestone: 30 weeks of consistent podcasting! That’s over half a year of bringing you news, laughs, and community vibes. We’re not chasing views—we’re all about having fun and building something special with our listeners. As we said, “Consistency is the key,” and we’re loving every moment of it. From pre-show giggles to on-air banter, we’re just two guys passionate about Hive and the crypto world, sharing our journey with you.

Mother’s Day and Sunny Vibes

It was Mother’s Day during the recording, and we sent out heartfelt shoutouts to all the moms out there. Fun fact: Art’s mom was celebrating her birthday in Malta, chilling at the beach! The weather was gorgeous—25°C and sunny—so we couldn’t resist sharing our beach day adventures. @MiniGunner even took a dip in the sea, earning Art’s approval. These personal touches are what make our podcast feel like a chat with friends.

Hive Echo: New ideas, New Winners

One of the biggest segments of our podcast is @Hive-Echo, the community-driven initiative to boost engagement on the Hive blockchain. We announced some exciting changes based on your feedback! Instead of rewarding one person with 50 HIVE, we’re now splitting it into two winners, each getting 25 HIVE. This gives more people a chance to win, and we added more names to our “Wheel of Names” for extra excitement.

In this episode, we spun the wheel twice, and the lucky winners were @Nahupuku and roswelborges@roswelborges, each scoring 25 HIVE, sponsored by the awesome folks at threespeak@threespeak. We can’t thank 3Speak enough for supporting these Call To Actions! We also introduced a new call-to-action for #Hive-Echo: On Wednesday, we’re going to ask you to leave a review for @Splinterlands on the Google Play Store, comment a screenshot of your review, and earn some Hive. Both #3Speak and @Splinterlands will curate this post, meaning more rewards for everyone!

We’re also collaborating with @Starkers and eddiespino@eddiespino to bring fresh ideas to Hive Echo. They’ve shared some cool suggestions, and we’re hyped to implement them. If you’re not following Hive-Echo on Hive and X, now’s the time to join the fun and stay updated on all call-to-actions.

Splinterlands’ Conclave Arcana: A Massive Success

The @Splinterlands Conclave Arcana pre-sale was a hot topic, and we were buzzing with excitement! By the time we recorded, the pre-sale had racked up nearly $1.8 million in sales, with over 800 buyers snapping up packs. Some players even dropped $100,000 on packs—talk about dedication! We were blown away by the community’s enthusiasm and the brilliant marketing by Splinterlands’ team, led by blazekos@blazekos. They kept the hype alive with surprises, like the reveal of new card Archmage Yabanius tied to the game’s deep lore.

However, we hit a snag: transact.com, our go-to for buying HIVE with fiat, stopped supporting HIVE transactions. This was a bummer, especially with only two hours left in the pre-sale. We’re calling on the community to find a substitute for this service, as it was super convenient for buying HIVE directly. Despite this, we’re planning a live pack-opening session on YouTube or another platform soon—stay tuned for that!

Community Spotlight: DigiByte and Hive Fest

We recently attended an X Spaces event hosted by Hive, alongside the @DigiBytecoin community, a group we’ve known since the Komodo days nearly a decade ago. DigiByte is now joining Hive, and we’re thrilled to see their blogging and crypto potential merge with our #ecosystem. We invite DigiByte members to join our podcast for a chat—especially those in the Netherlands, where they have a strong presence. If you’re a DigiByte member, hit us up!

We also highlighted a cool initiative by Alex Grampo on the @Hivefest Telegram channel. He’s encouraging everyone to post on Hive—whether it’s a photo, video, or short buzz about Hivefest and win 1$ in Crypto. To qualify for this reward, simply include a link to https://HiveFe.st in a new post on Hive. You can use any Hive app or website to make the post.

The only restriction: this offer is not available for brand new accounts.

Exciting Opportunities and Rocket Chat

Art shared some thrilling news: our friend @Buttcoins invited him to Guatemala for five weeks to help with the Hive Hub Hotel project, starting in June. This could mean creating DJ sets, photos, and even @Artakush T-shirts! It’s a dream opportunity, but Art’s work schedule might make it tricky. If it happens, we’re already brainstorming ways to keep the podcast going, maybe with virtual setups or pre-recorded segments. Picture us facing each other on screens, with a studio backdrop—hilarious but doable!

We also gave a shoutout to gtg@gtg for connecting Hive on Rocket Chat, a Hive-focused chat platform similar to Telegram but without the spam. You can join using openhive.chat and connect with your Hive account. It’s got channels for Cold Beetroot Soup and more, with endless possibilities for video calls and community building. We’re urging everyone to check it out and ditch other chat apps for this Hive-native alternative.

Polymarket and Hive Humpday Hangouts

Artakush stumbled upon Polymarket.com, a #decentralized betting platform where you can wager on real-world events, like “Will there be a U.S. recession in 2025?” or even “Who’ll be the next pope?” With millions in trading volume, we’re curious if Hive could integrate with this platform for crypto payments. It’s a wild concept, and we’re excited to explore it further.

Lastly, we reminded everyone about the Hive HumpDay Hangouts every Wednesday at 5 PM UTC on the @Ecency Discord channel ( LINK ). It’s a great place to chill, share ideas, or pitch your project. Whether you’re a speaker or just there to listen, join HHH!

Wrapping Up with a Laugh

Episode 30 wasn’t without its quirks. Mid-show, a door creaked open and closed on its own (just a draft, we swear!), and our computer died momentarily, only to spring back to life. These moments make our podcast real and raw, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We wrapped up by congratulating ourselves on hitting 30 episodes and promised to keep the good vibes going.

So, that’s the scoop on Episode 30! If you’re into crypto, gaming, or just love a good laugh, tune into Cold Beetroot Soup on Hive, X, or wherever you catch us. Follow @Hive-Echo, join Rocket Chat, and let’s keep building this amazing #community together. Until next time, stay hyped and keep it soupy!
