Today, we look around and see how governments have failed us. We see how society, as a whole, has suffered because of this. "Is government bad, or just a bad word? If you have ever looked at the meaning, we see what was REALLY intended...
Govern, from the latin meaning to "guide". Mente, meaning "wise". The Word GovernMent actually means to Guide Wisely. But we see that it has not done so for many a millenia. It has taken control of all we hold dear. It has forced its way into our homes, and into our private communication.
Oppression is what the government is known for. Police brutality, and police being killed. Gang violence, and government crackdowns. This is not what the founding fathers had in mind. But that is where we are. Our only escape from this threat is the online world.
But we are not free here either.
In another of my posts, I described the kind of people we can find online. I got a comment about how I was wrong because of my idea that people out in the real world get what they deserve because they bring it on themselves.
The problem with that, is I was talking about Steemit. Steemit is online. It is not a brick and mortar company. Maybe the person didnt really understand my intentions with that post, but I thought it was pretty clear. Online, we have different issues than offline.
We invite thieves to hack our wallets because everyone is able to see them. We invite trouble on ourselves while online. We know the risks, and yet we still do not worry about protecting our online accounts. Not just here on Steemit, but wherever we sing up.
Security/anonymity is more important now, than it has ever been. People are finding more and more places online to get away from the government than ever before. We need to have safe places to go when life is slowly choking us out in the real world. We need to have secure currencies that will be there and not stolen when we need them. People get sick in the flesh and bone world. We need to have access to our currency when real world things happen to us. We need food and water, and shelter, and clothing in the real world.
The internet is not going away. We have it like we have our hair. It is there, waiting to be tapped into so we can make sure our "things" are safe from prying eyes. Government wants nothing more than to keep you and I under their thumbs. The reason why is control. We need to get rid of those chains, and forge our futures here. The offline world is where our funds will be safe. Not with banks, or any other kind of government entity.
And not just our funds, or contracts, but our ideas, our hopes and desires. Anything we could ever want, or need, for the real world is just a few clicks away. A few secure clicks away from prying eyes. A few clicks away from our next meal, or our next vacation. Just a few clicks away.
It is not making life easier so much, but smarter.
Cryptocurrency is the way to free ourselves. It is our way to security from thieves, and governments. It is the way of intelligence. Its whats HIP and HAPPENIN now that will get us to where Satashi dreamed of. Decentralized.
